How Soccer Shootout collects, uses and protects your family's information.

Effective October 10, 2026

Who we are

Soccer Shootout runs fun rec soccer leagues for ages 4 to 12 with local programs in each community. This policy covers soccershootout.org, the forms on it and the messages we send. Our registration platform and other partners have their own privacy policies.

Information we collect

Information you give us:

  • When you pre-register or register a player: the parent or guardian's name, email, mobile phone and league location, and the player's name, date of birth, gender and any teammate request or note you add.
  • When you apply to coach: your name, email, phone, experience and availability.
  • When a club or league contacts us: the organization's name, your name and role, email, phone, town and state, and what you tell us about your program.
  • When you join our updates: your email and, if you give it, your ZIP code.
  • When you write to us: what you send.

Registration and payment: when you complete registration, our registration platform collects what it needs to register your player and take payment. Card numbers go to the payment processor. We do not store them.

Information collected automatically: your device and browser type, the pages you visit and how you reached our site, collected with cookies and similar tools (see Cookies, analytics and ads).

How we use it

  • To run the season: place players on teams, and contact families about schedules, weather and game day.
  • To answer your questions and complete your registration.
  • To review coach applications and complete each coach's background check, with the applicant's consent.
  • To talk with clubs and leagues that want to start a Soccer Shootout program.
  • To send the updates you ask for.
  • To improve our site, keep it secure and stop spam.
  • To follow the law.

Children's privacy

Our leagues are for children, but our website and forms are for parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13. A parent or guardian gives us a player's information. If you think a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

How we share it

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:

  • With the local program that runs your child's league, such as its director and coaches, so they can run the season.
  • With service providers who help us run the site and the leagues, such as our registration and payment platform, email delivery, form and spreadsheet tools, website hosting and analytics. They may use it only to provide those services.
  • When the law requires it, or to protect the safety of players, families and staff.
  • If Soccer Shootout or part of it is sold or reorganized, with the new owner, under the same protections.

Cookies, analytics and ads

We use Google Analytics to understand how families use our site, and the Meta Pixel to measure our ads and to show our ads to people who have visited soccershootout.org.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Google offers a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics, and your Facebook and Instagram ad settings let you control the ads you see. Our site does not respond to Do Not Track signals.

Email and text messages

Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. If you agree to receive text messages, reply STOP to stop them or HELP for help. Agreeing to marketing texts is never a condition of registering. Messages about your player's registration and season still come after you unsubscribe from marketing.

How we protect it

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No website or system is completely secure, so we cannot promise that information will never be accessed without permission.

How long we keep it

We keep information for as long as we need it to run the season, answer you and keep proper records, and then delete it or remove what identifies you.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you or your player, and you can opt out of marketing at any time. Residents of some states, including Virginia and California, have additional privacy rights. Write to us and we will answer within the time the law allows. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

Changes to this policy

When we update this policy, we post the new version here with a new effective date.
